George Cornelius was born on Oct. 6, 1842 in Nussdorf, Rheinpfalz, Bavaria. He came to Cincinnati, Ohio in 1859. He fought in the Civil War and later became a citizen. He returned to Cincinnati and opened a grocery store near Elm & 14th Streets in Cincinnati. He died September 3, 1910.

Killed in action at Butler's Old Mill in Sumner County, Tennessee on June 30, 1863 by Captain Ellis Harper and his Partisan Raiders. He is buried at the Nashville National Cemetery (burial #11263).

Born 12/15/1835 in Roth, Hessen-Darmstadt, Germany. Immigrated to Newport, KY, ca. 1845-50 with entire family. Fought and was captured at Battle of Hartsville, TN in December 1862. In Camp Parole near Cincinnati, OH until March 1863 when exchanged. Operated against Guerillas and CS cavalry raiding railroads in KY, TN and AL. Mustered out in June 1865 in AL.
