Ohio. Family originally from Faquier Co. VA and named Arrowsmith. Descended from James Arrowsmith who served in the 3rd Regiment of the Continental Army under General Washington and in 1839 his estate was awarded a land grant in Ohio for his service in the Revolution.

Brother to Charles Arrasmith (same Co.). Second cousins to James F. Edwards, Sgt. 4th VA Cavalry who died from wounds suffered during the seige of Richmond. Branch of family moved to Ohio from Virginia after receiving Rev. War Land Bounty Grant for service of G-grandfather James Arrowsmith, a soldier in the Continental Army. 2nd cous. 3x removed.
