John Peter Seamans enlisted in the 16th Pennsylvania Cavalry, Company A on October 2, 1862. During his service he contracted symptoms of Typhoid Fever. He was discharged with disability on January 28, 1864. John died February 24, 1891 in Benton, Pennsylvania. John is buried in Evergreen Cemetery in Factoryville, Pennsylvania.
