Thomas Miller was born in 1837 in what is now Monroe County, PA.
He enlisted 3/29/1864 in Easton, PA and was discharged on sugeon''s certificate on May 15, 1865 (due to leg ulcers developed during marches). His legs continued to be a problem for him until his death in November 1918.

Resident of Martin's Creek, Northampton Co, PA all his life. Mustered in 29 Feb 1864, Easton, PA. Contracted acute rheumatism of the back and shoulders from exposure to a heavy rain at Annapolis, MD, when the soldiers camped down in the water. Mustered out 27 July 1865, Alexandria, VA. Received invalid pension due to chronic arthritis and died age 46 due to severe curvature of the spine.

'James M. Kelly, of the Linn Rifles [Co. H] was buried on Roanoke Island, 27th March, having died of small-pox (of which six others of the Company are sick.) Mr. Kelly's age was about 23 years. He was the grandson of Col. John Kelly, of Revolutionary fame, son of the late Joseph Kelly, of Kelly Tp., son-in-law of Martin Hann of Lewisburg, [PA] where he enlisted.'

Enlisted 15 October 1862. Lewis was wounded at the Battle of Weldon Railroad 19 Aug 1864. This is the same battle that his nephew, Jeremiah, was taken prisoner. He was on the 27th of July 1865, age 35. He was 5'8', of fair compexion, had grey eyes, and dark hair, and was a laborer.
