Daniel A. Crawford

Pvt. Daniel A. Crawford 1844-1865 of Galivants Ferry, SC (Horry) was shot at the Battle of Five Forks, Va. April 1, 1865 & captured by Yankee troops. He was then transported to Point Lookout Confederate Prison Camp, Maryland where he later died June 18, 1865. He was the son of David E. Crawford & Mary Jane Jordan Crawford of Horry, SC. Daniel was one of 4 brothers that served in the CSA. He is my great-grand-uncle via his youngest brother, John D. Crawford 1850-1906 (my gg-grandfather) of Horry, SC. He is buried at Pt. Lookout Confederate Cemetery, MD. His name is on a bronze plaque at Pt. Lookout, POW Camp, MD (& also memorialized at findagrave.com).
