My grandfather, Pvt. William James Frady was in the 1st S.C. Cavalry 4th Rgmt. Co. C
Participated in sveral battles which includes The Wilderness, Cold Harbor, plus others. Was discharged in Raliegh, N.C. at the end of the war.
Moved to Texas in 1890's
born: 1846 in S.C. or Georgia
died: 1920 in Ledo, Texas
At this time he has one surviving son (my father) of twenty children he had. He he now 93yrs. (20 Feb. 1914)

John Joined for duty on 9 Jan. 1861 at Rock Hill, S.C., by Robin Ap. C Jones for the war. He was 43 years old. CMR for Mar & June / sick in hospital. His horse is valued at $200 and equipment at $25.00. In June 1862 he is absent on duty as Baggage Guard at Church Flats as his horse was killed 8 June 1862. He appears on a register of Payments to Discharged Soldiers. He was severely wounded and his horse killed on John's Island.
