Alfred A. Pardue - Sergeant   
A.A. Pardue died of disease in University Hospital in Knoxville, TN on Oct 29, 1862. He is buried in Bethel Cemetery in Knoxville along with approximately 1600 other C.S.A. soldiers. The undertaker made a list of the soldiers that he buried during the war. Either he wrote the name incorrectly or it was not legible. He is listed on the plaque at the cemetery as A.A. Parden. His widow, Rebecca Pardue is buried at Rock Hill Cemetery in Brunson, SC along with her daughter Mary Alice Pardue Sullivan and son-in-law Jefferson Darling Sullivan.

William Hardy Matthews was born 8 Aug. 1844 in that part of Edgefield County that in 1895 became Saluda County. He married Irene Amanda Havird (b. Feb. 1851 d. 30 Aug. 1907). His nickname was 'Butterfly Bill.' He died 25 Mar 1924 in Cool Springs,Saluda County, South Carolina and is buried at Sardis Baptist Church, Saluda, South Carolina. His wife is buried in the Z.C. Havird Cemetery, Saluda, South Carolina.

William Henry Husbands - Private   
William was born 17 Mar 1843 in Richmond Co. NC. He is found on the 1860 census at age 17 in The Sumter District, South Carolina. The PO is at Bishopville. He enlisted 17 Dec 1861 from the Sumter district and mustered at Columbia, SC Enlisted by Col Preston. His regiment was sent to Tennessee, and he fought the Corinth Campaign Apr - June 1862, The Kentucky aka Perryville Campaign where he fought at Munfordsville. The Atlanta and Carolina Campaign. On 18 Feb 1864 he is granted an 18-day furlough. On 3 August 1864 he suffers a gunshot wound to his knee and is a patient at the Floyd House at Ocmulgee Hospital at Macon Georgia. It is noted that his is serving in Manigault's Brigade and his home is in Bishopville, SC. He died 8 April 1902 in Darlington Co. SC and is buried at Mount Elon Baptist Church, Hartsville, Dar. Co. SC He was the father-in-law of my 2nd cousin 4 x removed.

John G. C. Drennan, born 1843, had been farming with his widowed mother and two sisters when he enlisted. He was wounded at the Battle of Atanta on 20 July 1864, but was back with his regiment when it was surrendered at high Point and paroled at Grensboro. He returned to rural Lowndesville and died there in summer 1873 at age 30 years and 12 days, leaving his mother, two spinster sisters, one daughter, and two sons.

Joseph Joel Ashcraft - Private   
Joseph was the son of Joel Ashcraft and Martha 'Patsey' Ferguson. Joseph was living in Chester Co. SC near his mother when he enlisted. His mother moved to Bradley (now Cleveland) Co. AR before 1870 near her other sons who had returned home after serving with the 26th AR Infantry.

Joseph enlisted in Chester Dist. SC as a private with Capt. Senn's Co. H on November 18, 1862 and was captured July 3, 1864 near Marietta GA during the Atlanta Campaign. He was imprisoned at Camp Morton IN until March 15th of 1865. He was part of a prisoner exchange, was hospitalized in Richmond VA the 22nd of March and was paroled in Charlotte NC May 23, 1865.
