Pleasant Trent was captured and taken to the prison camp at Belle Isle, Richmond VA. He was part of a prisoner exchange due to illness. He died from scurvy soon after arriving to the Annapolis MD hospital; he was buried there.

James Patterson Cockerham

James was a farrier with the 10th Tennessee serving from 8 November 1863 until 1 August 1865. He was in Tullahoma in June 1864, Pulaski Sep 1864, at Franklin Nov 28-30 1864 at Nashville during the weeks prior and in the battle near Shy's Hill. Participated in the pursuit of the Army of Tennessee to Alabama then served guard duty in west Tennessee afterward.

William Haney, my Great, Great, Grandfather, enlisted on March 1, 1862, at seventeen (17) years of age. He was assigned to Company A, 49th Regiment, of the North Carolina Infantry. He deserted on August 15, 1862, and returned home to get married. On April 12, 1864, he enlisted with Company H, 10th Regiment, of the Tennessee Calvary where he remained until August of 1865.

James Bly Ownbey

James was born and raised in Blairsville, Union County, Georgia. He was 18 years old when he joined Co.I in Nashville,Tennessee in August of 1864. He seved with his regiment through many battles and skirmishes against Wheeler and Forrest. He was wounded at Duck River, Tennessee but stayed with his company. He also took part in the Battle of Nashville, Tennessee under General James Wilson. He was mustered out of service in August of 1865 in Nashville, Tennessee. He returned home to Union County after the war until the 1890's when he and his family moved to Texas.

Samuel Marion Burdett

Samuel M. Burdett was born about 1833 to George Washington Burdett and Eda Hockett in Bledsoe County Tennessee. Joined Company M, 10th Tennessee Cavalry (USA). Brother to Noah and Henry Burdett in the 4th Tennessee Cavalry (USA) and Thomas H. Burdett of the Confederate forces. Samuel Burdett was very likely a Confederate soldier in the 22nd Tennessee Infantry Battalion (CSA). Married Nancy Jane Swafford. Died 1922. Buried in Burdett Cemetery, Walden's Ridge, Bledsoe County. He is the brother to the great great grandmother of the submitter's wife.
