Calvin K Killet - Private
Calvin was born in 1838 in Haywood County, Tennessee. He has 2 cards in his archival file. He enlisted on 18 July 1863 at Dyersburg, Dyer County, Tenn. Enlisted by Capt. E P Kirk for 3 years. He fought under the command of Gen. Nathan Bedford Forrest with Colonel's Longwood and Stewart. Yazoo City, Athens, Ala. Paris Landing, Spring Hill Tenn., Franklin and Nashville. It was a consolidated unit with Dawson's Tenn Partisan Rangers and Nixon's consolidated. Paroled at Gainsville, Ala. May 1865. He died in 1884 in Dyersburg, Dyer Co. Tenn. and is buried in the Emory City Cem. in Rains County, Texas. He was the father-in-law of my 2nd cousin 3 x removed.

James Calvin DevlinRank Unknown
James Calvin Devlin, son of Charles James Calvin Devlin and the former Miss Sarah Virginia Oliver, was born August 15th 1840 in Cedar Springs, South Carolina. At age 4 or so, his family moved to Fayetteville, Tennessee.

In July 1861, James C. Devlin enlisted in Co. B, 15th Tennessee Cavalry Regiment; which became one of eight companies tp formed into a battalion under Lieutenant Colonel N. B. Forrest and Major D. C. Kelley, at Camp Forrest, near Memphis, Tennessee in October 1861. This The regiment, as part of the 3rd Consolidated Tennessee Cavalry Regiment, was surrendered and paroled at Gainesville, Alabama in May 1865.

After the war, James Calvin Devlin married Miss Bettie B. Brister; with whom he had five daughters and a son. He departed this life at the age of 59 on April 21st 1900 in Memphis, Tennessee; where he is buried at Elmwood Cemetery.

Feb 1863 to April 1863 -- prison then exchanged

April 1863 to Jul 1863 -- back in 15th Calvary Co. C

Enlisteed 'summer of 1864.' This was part of General Nathan Bedford Forrest's command. Captured at Nashville, TN 4 December 1864 and spent the rest of the war a prisoner at Camp Douglas, IL (Chicago). Released June 1865.

John Harvey Bridges originally joined the Civil War in May of 1861, and fought until 11 January 1862, when he got sick.

After recuperating, he rejoined the war in July of 1863 and served in Company I, Calvary, under Captain J. C. Gooch in Forrest's Army.
