Robert C. G. Frye, based on sworn affidavits, joined the 61st Tennessee Mounted Infantry, Co. A, Vaughn's Brigade, in the Fall of 1864 (17 yrs old) until disbanded in Spring of 65'. Further, sworn affidavits aimed at attaining his widow, Susan (Wilcox) Frye, a pension, indicate he was a good soldier who took part as Pres Jefferson Davis's escort in the Confederate Governments flight from Richmond in Spring of 65'. Reports also indicated he stayed his company until disbanded. Later he held various community roles as Post Master, School Teacher, and/or a Minister in Graysburg, TN until his death 1902. Son of John Justice & Thurzenia Brown.Husband of Edith Adeline Land.Enlisted Sept.18,1862 in Greene Co.Tn.Present & on the rolls till captured & paroled at Vicksburg's surrender.Reported to parole camp at Zollicoffer Tn.Captured Jan.3 1865 at Greene Co Tn.Sent to Camp Chase Ohio he was paroled again and is on a hospital roll at Camp Winder Richmond,Va. March 9,1865.He and Edith migrated to Iowa of all places following the war,where she lived till 1936.

Great-uncle of my Paternal grandmother. Her father was probably named after him. Company B was organized Sept 24, 1862 at Rogersville,Tenn. Henry was Paroled at the surrender of Vicksburg, July 4,1863. Died at the Confederate hospital, Mobile, Alabama. Aug.12,1863. Buried in Confederate Cemetery, Mobile,Ala. row #13, grave #35. His brothers Jackson, William, and William's son, James H. served in the Union Army.

Pleasant Lewis Leeper - Private
Pleasant Lewis Leeper joined the 61st Tennessee Infantry @ Henderson Mills, Greene Co., Tennessee in October 1861. Co.I was mustered into the Confederate Army on November 10, 1861. He was captured @ Big Black River RR Bridge near Raymond, Mississippi in May 1863. He was shiped North to Point Lookout Union Army Prison where he died in the Fall of 1864, and was buried in a Mass Grave.
