Omri S. Atherton - Corporal
Omri was a half-brother of my great-grandfather, and the son of Elihu Atherton and Wealthey Smalley of Duxbury, VT. He was paroled following his wounding and capture at the Petersburg Mine Battle. He was [araded yhrough Petersburg with others to Danville Prison and was shortly sent to hospital for his injuries. He died in Berlin, VT three months after his parole of severe diarreah. He is buried in Montpelier, VT.
