William Giddings - Private
|
William Giddings was my Great Great Grandfather. He was a Private in Powhatan Artillery, Captain Willis J. Dance's Company, Smith's Battery from Elizabeth City County (Hampton) Virginia. He was transfered from Captain Coke's Company and moved from one company to another before being reorganized into the 32nd Virginia Infantry. He served with General Magruder during the Peninsula Campain. He was buried with his daughter in the Guy Family Cemetery at the end of Eastlawn Drive in Fox Hill (Hampton) Virginia. He was my entrance into the Sons Of Confederate Veterans. His widow, my Great Great Grandmother is buried with my family members at the Oakland Cemetery on Pembroke Avenue in Hampton Virginia. She lived in Pee Dee Point section of Hampton till her death.
