You have to wonder the motivation of these Civil War Veteran Soldiers, what their motivation was? Certainly not just the pay? They had to feel a deeper obligation to save the Union or other noble reasons?
Hey this article is from Oct. 5th, 1863, so it qualifies as a "this day in history"? Visited Montpelier, Vt. just over a year ago, a small but beautiful capital, lots of history there!
