First off I want to thank you for continually posting historical articles on the Civil War, the part of American History I find most fascinating! In this article of the returning of a prized engraved sword to the widow of Capt Chas Brown! We find so much about the attitudes, like chivalry, bravery, politeness of the times, it is so inspiring, & refreshing, with what's going on in todays world! I wonder where & who may have Brown's engraved sword today? It would be fascinating to see it in a CW Museum or somewhere prominate!?
Boy articles like this are refreshing, I recommend any MHOer's to read & comment!?
Thanks again, you hit a homerun with this one!
"The brave men, living and dead, who struggled here, have consecrated it, far above our poor power to add or detract."
