U.S. Troop Locations
Posted on: 11/5/2018 11:38:08 PM
I am struggling to find information on where U.S. troops were based during WWII. The ideal would be monthly (or at least yearly) totals by relatively discrete locations. For example, as of July 1945, there were ___ thousand soldiers on Luzon, ___ thousand in Australia, etc.

TIA for links & suggestions.

Hi Raywood,

My estimate is the granularity of information you are looking for will require a search through paper documentation at the national archives. Information accessible on the web is more general, such as this table.

The table in full can be seen at [Read More]

You know, that link might just do it, for my purposes. That's a good find. Thank you!

Adding "Hyperwar" to any WWII googling would be a good idea.
