Pvt. Lewis Martin Brown was born June 16,1833 in Walton Ga he died Feb 12,1912 in Morgan Co Alabama and is burried at Johnson Chapel Cemetary near Decatur AL. He enlisted in the 29th Al Co C on Aug 31,1862 at Pollard AL. He was shot in the head on July 28,1864 at Ezra Church Ga which was part of the Atlanta Campaign. He survived the wound and was captured and sent to Camp Chase Ohio. On June 9,1865 he was released on oath at Point Lookout Maryland. Later on the wound caused him to have to put a silver plate in his head!
