Aaron Burrel Nabors - Private   
Aaron was 20 He served in Co A 2nd Alabama Infantry for 16 months until it was disbanded with the fall of Fort Pillow. He had enlisted at Fort Morgan, Ala. on 13 July 1861 and his unit had served there as Heavy Artillery Battery for some time. He then enlisted at Fort Pillow on 22 Mar. 1862 in Capt Hame's unattached Infantry co of Vols'. This became Co A 51st Regiment Partisan Rangers. Eventually becoming Co A 11th Regt, Ala. Cavalry. Serving under General John H Morgan & Gen. Nathan Bedford Forrest.

John is the husband of my 2nd Cousin Martha Ann Thomas He was transferred to 1st Alabama Artillery after his horse was killed.
He enlisted at Montgomery on 21 March 1862. He survived the war .

I am not a relative, but I am doing a project on this particular veteran. He enlisted in 1864 and served until the CSA surrendered in 1865. He was born in Alabama and lived there until he was moved to the Beauvoir Veteran's Home where he lived until his death in his 70's in the 1920's. He was married to Maney Gammill and had one child named Jean Gammill.

Charles Earle Bussey - 1st Sergeant   
my great-great grandfather was the commander of Company I (Alabama Grays) and was wounded at Chickamauga and again near Lovejoy Station. He previously served in Company D, 2nd Alabama and Company A, 42nd Alabama. His younger brother Robert served the Shorter Guards (90 Day Volunteers) and Company D, 3rd Alabama Cavalry. Charles is buried in Oakwood Cemetery in Oakton, Kentucky.

Known as: Company F, Alabama Hilliard's 2nd Infantry Battalion...Died during the Civil War at Missionary Ridge, TN, This is The Battle of Chattanooga. The Union victories forced the Confederates back into Georgia, ending the siege of the vital railroad junction of Chattanooga.
