Frederick was discharged from the 42nd Mass. Infantry after his 90 day stint and enlisted in Company B, 3rd Massachusetts Heavy Artillery on 28 May 1863. He remained in the Artillery Unit until his discharge on 18 September 1865. He died at the Home for disabled Soldiers and Sailors Eastern Branch in Togus Maine on 22 Feb 1912.

Josiah Jones Proctor - Private |
PROCTOR, Josiah J. Was born March 5th, 1836, in Warwick, Massachusetts. He entered the service July 10, 1863 at Fort Independence, Boston Harbor, MA, as a private in the 11th Unattached Massachusetts Heavy Artillery and was discharged Sept. 18, 1865, as Sergeant at Fort Sumner, Maryland, by reason of muster out of regiment per S.O. No. 220 Dept. Washington A.G.O. He then transferred to Company G of the 3rd Massachusetts Heavy Artillery. He was first promoted to Corporal Dec. 12, 1863 and again promoted Aug. 1, 1865, to Sergeant, which rank he held when finally discharged by reason of the close of the war. At that time he returned to live in Spencer, Massachusetts. On December 4, 1918 he died and was buried at Pine Grove Cemetery in Spencer.
