Thomas Bennet Singleton - Private   
'Ben' Singleton enlisted with 2 of his brothers at the outbreak of the Civil War, was wounded during the Seven Pines Campaign, sent to the Hospital in Richmond, recovered and rejoined his unit. He rose to the rank of Second Sergeant in late 1863 but was listed as AWOL and broken to the rank of Private upon his return. After the War he married and moved to Bridgeport Texas were he raised a family. He is buried in Boonesville Texas, the only known Confederate Veteran in the Cemetary

He is present at Wayside Hospital or General Hospital No 9, Richmonds 5/8/1864 and CSA General Hospital Danville , Va 5/23/1865. He is present Sept- Dec 1864. He was captured by the 3d Brigade 24th Army in fort Whitworth , Va which was carried by assautlt 4/2/1865. He arrived at City Point, Va 4/5/1865 after capture at Petersburg and released 6/9/1865 after taking Oath of Allegance
