Aaron B Crego - Private |
Aaron B Crego was doubly related to my great-great grandparents James S and Mary Ann Catherine (Nash) Crego. He was the cousin of James (son of James' uncle John Crego) and also the husband of Mary Ann's niece Diademia Nash. Aaron was 25 when he enlisted as a private in Co. D in August of 1864 and mustered out post-war in June of 1866. He died in 1914 in Brooklyn, Jackson County, MI.

Justice Augustus Irish - Private |
My 2nd great grandfather. Justice was born in the state of New York. Moved with his family to VanBuren, Michigan some time shortly before 1860. Justice was a farmer and married his wife Delila Irish at Clarndon, Orleans, New York in 1846. Together they had 6 children. Eugene, Amanda, Mary, Amy, Francis, and Fanny.
In January of 1864 Justice enlisted in the volunteer regiment of the Michigan 28th Infantry in Sept. of 1864. While serving his tour of duty he contracted Typhoid Fever and was mustered out by June of 1865. He died of his disease on July 2, 1865 and is buried at Hartford Cemetery in Hartford, VanBuren, Michigan.
