Solomon enlisted on December 21, 1863, Co E 7th NY Heavy Artillery. He was captured at the Battle of Gaines Mills, Va. June 2, 1864. On June 22, 1864 he was transferred to Andersonville Prison, Georgia. He died at Andersonville Prison on August 27, 1864 and is buried in grave #6993.
