James Burke - Private   
James served as a private in Co. F. He was wounded at the Second Battle of Bull Run. As a result of his injury, James was never able to fill the roles of Co. F again. He spent the remainder of the war guarding prisoners and assisting the teamsters. He died 6/30/1899. He is interred at St. Mary's Cemetery in Kingston, NY.

During the Battle at Cedar Creek, he was injured in a retreat by a horse knocking him down and trampling over him. He was in Sheridan's Field Hospital (Winchester, Virginia), Damden Hospital (Baltimore, MD) and the U.S. Government Hospital (Annapolis, MD).
