James unk. Carney - Private   
James Carney immigrated from Roscommon, Ireland to Springfield MA then to Thompsonville CT in the early '50's. He enlisted in the 43d NYSVI inAlbany NY in Dec. '61 and served with the AOP from before the Peninsula Campaign through to Petersburg. He was injured in a train wreck 3/8/65 and was hospitalized at the end of the War. He lived out the last ten years of his life in the Army hospital system, died in 1915 & is buried in Hampton (Elizabeth) VA.
