104th New York Infantry

Zenas enlisted on Jan. 28 1862 at age 44. He was hurt slipping on a crumbly riverbank in Maryland (just before Antietam) and was thereafter discharged. He later joined the Veteran Reserve Corps. His son, Nathan, served in the First New York Dragoons (and died in prison in Richmond).

Anton was the father of John Stiefel (Steeber) also of E company. He mustared in as 41 years of age but was 51. He served for three months and was discharge for medical reasons.

John enlisted on Jan 13th 1862 at Newark, NJ. He served until Dec 7th 1865.

Enlisted as a Private on 15 January 1862 at the age of 36. Enlisted in Company K, 104th Infantry Regiment New York on 08 March 1862. Deserted Company K, 104th Infantry Regiment New York on 30 August 1862. Returned in Company K, 104th Infantry Regiment New York on 24 March 1863. Missing on 01 July 1863 at Gettysburg, PA (No further record).

Lied about his age to join the 104th NVY, then died in his first action... the Second Battle of Bull Run.
