Enlisted just prior and participated at Gettysburg till the end of the war. His grandfather also Elisha Geer from Lake George NY fought and was killed in the war of 1812, 23rd NY Militia at the Battle of Plattsburgh, and his father Roger Geer was in the Connecticut Militia 23 months in the RevWar.
Elisha is a Jamestown and Mayflower Decsendant.

William Hurley served in the Union Army during the Civil War. He served in the 61st Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry, Company D, as a Private. He enlisted October 22, 1862 and was discharged on July 5, 1865. Upon discharge he was listed with the disability: Wounded right knee. His discharge address was Canonsburg, Pennsylvania.

The 61st PA was a three year volinteer regiment; he was discharged with the members of the regiment that did not choose to re-enlist at the end of the three years. This is my great-great grandfather and I am in possesion of his discharge paper. Any information about him would greatly be appreciated.
