There are only two cards in his file. CMR for 15 Dec.1861-12 Jan 1862. Charles enlisted 15 Dec. 1861 at Richmond Va. enlisted by Capt Wilkinson for 3 years. He has not been paid. This unit was also known as Co. A Marion Artillery, and Co. A Richmond Local Guards. This company was disbanded and mustered out of service by S.O. dated 14 Feb. 1862. I then find Charles F. Pankey in Co A. 59th Va. Infantry.

Henry is found in two other units. When this unit was decomissioned the men scattered. Henry was a 3rd Lieut in Co C 3rd Regt. Va. Light Arty. When this unit was reorganized he enlisted as a Pvt. in Co I 5th Va. Cavalry. He was taken prisoner at some point. He took the oath aka ' Swallowed the Yellow Dog' on 25 April 1865 at Manchester Va.
