Calvin Preston Thomas has two cards on file. His name appears on a list of Field and Staff Officers [ Forage Master ] of the 45th Regiment Arkansas Militia from Searcy County Ark. Ordered into service Nov. 1861 by Col Sam Leslie to supress a secret organizaton opposed to the war.

11 May 1865 -- Surrendered with Brig-Gen Meriwether Jefferson Thompson (M Jeff Thompson) (Swamp Fox of the Confederacy) near Chalk Bluff, Arkansas (Clay County, Arkansas).
5 JUN 1865 - Paroled at Jacksonport, Arkansas (Jackson County)
He was 22 yrs old when paroled and was born in Tennessee.
By Dec of 1866 he married Julie Louise Simmons in Augusta, Woodruff County, Arkansas. Edward Townes Fallin was buried at the Augusta Memorial Cemetary in 1908. Julie had died in 1906.
