Enlisted in 5th Regiment, Indiana Cavalry in August 1862, for three years. He Was in many battles and skirmishes, and was captured with General Stoneman and 600 men on July 31, 1864 at Macon, Georgia

Christopher Search joined on Aug. 15 1862 and was mustered in on Sept. 15, 1862. He was taken prisoner on Dec. 14, 1863 at Bean Station Tenn. He was taken to Andersonville and died there on June 8, 1864.

Pvt. George Washington Cauble b. 28 Jun 1823 Salem, Washington Co., Indiana d. 28 Dec 1917. Enlisted August 1862 in Co E, 5th Indiana Cavalry along with three brothers, Andrew Jackson Cauble, Alexander Cauble, and Adam W. Cauble. He was captured in Georgia and was confined at Libby Confederate Prison in Richmond, Va.

Enlisted as a Saddler on 18 August 1862. Enlisted in Company F, 5th Cavalry Regiment Indiana on 18 August 1862. Was captured and became a Prisoner of War.

Service: 18 Aug 1862 - 15 Jun 1865. Died after 1879, buried in New Bern Christian Church Cem, Bartholomew Co, IN.

Was a prisoner of war at Andersonville and was 17 years old when he enlisted. Died Oct 1927, Walla Walla, WA.

Transferred to Company I 6th Calvary 90th Regiment July 1, 1865 to finish enlistment. Mustered out September 15 1865. Lived in Jay County Indiana, but enlisted October 21 1862 in Indianapolis so he ended up in a unit not associated with Jay County. Most people from his part of Jay County have their enlistment being from Richmond Indiana, they ended up in Company F 69th Indiana Volunteer Infantry.

Felix, my 2-great-grandfather on my Mother's side, helped organize and lead the 5th - including the chase of Morgan's cavalry in 1863. He died in Danville in 1900.
