Corporal Pearsall was born in 1843 in Belvidere, Illinois, the son of Horace and Lovina Walker Pearsall. He enlisted as a Private on August 26, 1861 at the age of 18. On April 14, 1863, he was promoted to Corporal. Pearsall was killed on May 18, 1863 at Vicksburg, Mississippi.

Enlisted as Corporal in late 1861 at age 16. Wounded in thigh at Pea Ridge. Reenlisted 1864. Wounded in thigh at Hickory Hill, SC, February 1865. Leg removed. Per services records.

Served with his elder brother from the day the unit was organized till Wesley's death. he then served with Company H, until the entire Regiment was mustered out at Louisville, KY.

Died 8 March 1863 at Young's Point, Mississippi, during the siege of Vicksburg. Older brother of Cpl. Arthur Joseph Cook. He was my great-great Uncle.

John Conrad Logue enlisted as a Private in the 9th Iowa Infantry. He was mustered in August 17, 1861 at age 22. He was promoted to Corporal July 1, 1863. He re-enlisted January 23, 1864. He was mustered out July 18, 1865 at Louisville, Kentucky. He contracted rheumatism while digging trenches at night in the Vicksburg campaign. He also suffered a severe sunstroke while stationed at Atlanta. He never fully recovered and was never able to perform manual labor thereafter.
