Paroled from Holly Springs, Miss at the end of Dec. 1862 and sent to St. Louis, Mo. Exchanged but was in hospital sick in St. Louis, Mo. from Aug 17, 1963 to 28 Nov., 1863. Was muster out as a Pvt. at Clinton, Iowa on 8 Aug 1865.during the Civil War.

Enlisted August 12, 1862 at Independence, Iowa. Discharged at hospital Feb. 11, 1963 at Memphis, Tn. General disability.

James Henry Dairy was born in 1797, was in the war of 1812, enlisted in the army September 1826 mustered out October 3, 1864. James was married had two sons that is known. First son William H. and the second son John J. -James Henry died in 1881.
