Louisville Provost Guard‏

Enlisted on 10/7/1861 at Louisville, KY as a Corporal. On 10/8/1861 he mustered into 'B' Co. KY Provost Guard He was Mustered Out on 10/4/1862 at Louisville, KY Son of John Goldsmith Jr. ( my wife's family tree )This unit later mustered as the Ky.34th INf.& served in East Tenn.& S.W.Va. They continued to carry the nickname ' Louisville Provost Guard.'

Joseph E. Goldsmith ( my wife's ancestor ) This unit later mustered as the 34th Ky. INf.& served in East Tenn.& S.W.Va. They continued to carry the nickname ' Louisville Provost Guard.'
