my greataunt Louise Knapton told us he was wounded at Gettysburg.1861-1865 had 6 children then died.his widow was granted his war pension

George died on Sept. 15, 1909 and is buried in Resurrection Cemetery, Affton, St. Louis County, Missouri. Section 12 - Lot 426.

Michael Doherty immigrated from Ireland in 1852. He lived in New York, but he wanted to fight with the Irish, so he joined the Massachusets 11th, the Boston Volunteers. He suffered a head wound in Williamsburg and was killed at Gettysburg. He left behind his widow, Honora and 5 children.

Enlisted as a Private on 13 June 1861 at the age of 21. Lived in Brunswick, ME. Discharged on 21 April 1864 at Portsmouth Grove, RI.

He was born in Derry, NH but served to the credit of Newburyport, MA and was the first man from there to die in the war in 1862 (after Malvern Hill) of typhoid fever. Unfortunately a great aunt sold all pictures of him along with the family bible.

Thomas L. Cahill was my gr-gr-grandfather and fought for 3 years with the 11th Mass. After the war he went on to serve as a member of the Boston Police Department in East Boston for over 20 years. He appears to have been an active member of the 11th Mass Infantry's Veteran's Association. He died circa 1896 leaving behind a large family with many descendents alive today 2010.

Enlisted as a Private on 13 June 1861 at the age of 24. Enlisted in Company H, 11th Infantry Regiment Massachusetts on 13 Jun 1861. Promoted to Full Corporal on 25 Oct 1863. Transferred out of Company H, 11th Infantry Regiment Massachusetts on 1 May 1864 at Philadelphia, PA. Transferred into Navy Regiment U.S. Navy on 2 May 1864. Promoted to Full Ordinary Seaman on 2 May 1864. Discharged from Navy Regiment U.S. Navy on 7 Jul 1865.

George was a drummer. He served from 6-13-1861 through 6-24-1864.

Thomas F. Bailey was born in Dorchester Massachusetts in 1838 and before the war was employed as a carpenter in that town. He enlisted in the Spring of 1861 in Dorchester. He was wounded at the Battle of Second Manassas on August 29,1862. He was promoted to the rank of Corporal upon returning to his regiment. On July 2, 1863 Cpl Bailey was wounded at the Battle of Gettysburg on the Emmittsburg Road. He was promoted on the field to the rank of Sergeant of Co.K. After the war Mr. Bailey assisted in the organization of the Geo W. Perry Post 31 GAR in Scituate and was for many years that post's Commander. Mr. Bailey served his town also as a representative to the State Legislature in 1880 and a member of the town's Board of Selectmen in 1893-1896 and again from 1900-1903. Until his death in 1930, Mr. Bailey was senior member of his building company Thomas F. Bailey & Son where he built many of the period homes that still stand today.'A strong minded resolute man but of most genial and kindly nature. His memory will be revered'
