Reenlisted in Company A, 26th Infantry Regiment Massachusetts on 01 January 1864 Mustered out Company A, 26th Infantry Regiment Massachusetts on 26 August 1865 in Savannah, GA

Promoted to Full 1st Lieutenant (As of Co. D 26th MA Inf) on 2 September 1861. Commission in Company D, 26th Infantry Regiment Massachusetts on 18 October 1861. Received a disability discharge on 31 March 1862 at Ship Island, MS.

Enlisted as a Private on 19 September 1861 at the age of 21. Mustered in Company D, 26th Infantry Regiment Massachusetts on 18 October 1861. Promoted to Full Corporal on 1 July 1865. Mustered out on 26 August 1865 at Savannah, GA.

This is the older brother of my great grandfather Henry C Crockett who served in the 16th Maine (see my other entry). There were three brothers who fought for the Union. The second brother was David S Crockett (see 5th Maine infantry).All of these soldiers are descendants of the original Thomas Crocket of Stoke Gabriel, Devon, England (1606-1678) who came to Maine in 1631.
