This afternoon, I happened upon a reunion picture of the 37th massachusetts from 1925. I'll try and send a copy to anyone who want it (via e-mail). If any of you have any reunion pictures, please e-mail me.

Wounded in the Battle of the Wilderness. Died of wounds 6 days later on May 22, 1864

Wounded in the hand at the 2nd Battle of Fredericksburg.

I have my great-great grandfathers rifle from the war, and would like to know as much about him as possible. The rifle appears to have many markings that look like it was in heavy combat. He was from Fall River Massachusetts.

Henry Sykes is my great-grandfather. I would like to find other Berkshire, Mass. decendants of relatives who fought in this same regiment and company.

My Gr gr gr grandfather Horatio R. Calkins , Born Wilbraham, Ma Pvt 37th Reg company D. It's very interesting to find all this history in my family, and very interested in learning more about his regiment.

Lt. Sheldon, my great-great grandfather, came from Southampton, Mass. He was wounded in the final assault on Petersburg on April 2, 1865.

William J. Simmons was my third-great uncle, and I'm interested in finding out as much as possible about his life and experiences. In a brief sketch about his Civil War service, he wrote that some of his close comrades were the following: Jonas A. Champney; Albert C. Sparks; Frederick L. Wheelock; and Harvey L. Hadlock.

David Dunnels White of the 37th Mass. captured Confederate Major General George Washington Custis Lee, the son of famed General Robert E. Lee, at the Battle of Sailor's Creek, Virginia, April 6, 1865. I would love to hear from anyone whose ancestor of the 37th Mass participated in the Battle of Sailors Creek.....Frank

Enlisted as a Private on 1 August 1862 at the age of 19 at Camp Briggs, Pittsfield, Massachusetts, in Company F, 37th Infantry Regiment, Massachusetts, on 30 August 1862. Killed Company F, 37th Infantry Regiment Massachusetts on 6 May 1864 at the Battle of the Wilderness, Virginia.

Enlisted as a Private on 11 August 1862 at the age of 21. Mustered in Company F, 37th Infantry Regiment Massachusetts on 30 August 1862. Died of disease on 11 December 1862 at White Oak Church, VA. Buried at Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania National Military Park.

Edward lived in Whately, MA at time of enlistment. He was wounded at Winchester, VA on Sept. 19, 1864. His brother Samuel Sanderson was also in Massachusetts 37th Infantry Company F.

French canadian volunteer, died in hospital in 1863.

Killed at Saylors Creek when exhausted dropped out or rank to rest and was killed by the Confederates.

Family history says that he served in the place of his son.
