This unit was formed from several scattered and depleted Cavalry and mounted Vol companies on 14 June 1862 in Greensboro, Choctaw Co Miss on 14 June 1862 Including Capt J. B. Dunn's Miss Cavalry aka [Rangers]. Abner was a member of Capt. Dunn's unit having enlisted 12 July 1862. He re enlisted 21 Nov 1863 at Lewisvile, Miss. He survived the illegal invasion and died 24 Nov 1887 in Bluff Chapel, Choctaw Co. Miss. He was my 5th cousin 5 x removed.
