Thadeus Augustus Anglin survived the war, then farmed in northern Mississippi until about 1900 when he moved his family to Bogota, Texas, and then on to Lazare, Texas, where he died on December 5, 1911. He is buried in the Tennessee Valley Cemetery just outside the deserted township of Lazare, Texas. His grave is marked with a granite marker. His descendants moved to Hunt County, Texas, after his death in 1911.

Private John Phillips: Wounded and taken prisoner, Transferred to Illinois where his health deteriorated due to wound and starvation. Union started to transfer out of POW camp but he died in Virginia. Not known where he is laid to rest at this time. 20th Infantry Regiment was organized during the late summer of 1861 with men from Bolivar, Monroe, Noxubee, Adams, Scott, Carroll, and Newton counties. The unit moved to Virginia, then Tennessee where in February, 1862, it was captured at Fort Donelson. In this engagement it lost 19 killed of the 31 officers and 469 men present. The regiment was exchanged and assigned to Tilghman's and J.Adams' Brigade, Department of Mississippi and East Louisiana. For a time it served in the Vicksburg area, then transferred to the Army of Tennessee. Placed in J.Adams' and Lowry's Brigade, the 20th was involved in the Atlanta and Tennessee Campaigns and ended the war in North Carolina. Only a remnant surrendered on April 26, 1865. Its commanders were Colonels William N. Brown and D.R. Russell; Lieutenant Colonels D.H. Maury, Horace H. Miller, and Walter A. Rorer; and Majors William M. Chatfield, Thomas B. Graham, and C.K. Massey. [

Dec 30, 1837 – Dec 19, 1897. He had a light complexion, dark hair, blue eyes, stood 5’ 7 ½” and lived in Abbeville Al. Enlisted May 25, 1861in Handsboro County MS. Mustered in on July 6, 1861 at Corinth MS. He was captured at Fort Donelson on Feb 16, 1862 and shows on rolls at Camp Douglas Il on Aug 1, 1862. He was transferred to Vicksburg on Sep 2, 1862 to be exchanged. He was wounded on Aug 18, 1864 outside Atlanta GA. He was captured at Nashville TN after being wounded by a Minnie ball in the right foot and taken to the USA General Hospital Nashville TN at age 26. He was transferred to Louisville Ky on Jan 4, 1865 and shows on Prisoner rolls at Louisville Ky on May 6, 1865. He was paroled at Louisville Ky after taken the oath on Jun 16, 1865. Ezekiel Bailey died while being held at Camp Douglas in Chicago, Illinois. His name is listed on the Confederate Mound Monument in Oak Woods Cemetery in Chicago, Illinois.

Lewis was a mere 16 years old when he and his three older brothers joined the confederate army. After his three older brothers were captured at Fort Donelson, Lewis went on to other battles. He was wounded and captured at the Battle of Peach Tree just outside of Atlanta, Georgia. He was released and he returned home to Mississippi. He died of old age in a confederate old soldiers home in Ardmore, Oklahoma.

Robert and his three brothers all served in the 20th Mississippi Infantry simultaneously. He and two brothers were prisoners of war at Camp Douglas, Chicago, Illinois (Hell's 80 acres).

Three brothers, William, Robert, and Ezekiel Bailey, were all prisoners of war having been captured during battle. They were all sent to Camp Douglas in Chicago, Illinois. Ezekiel died there suffering from disease. The other two were released in an exchange. They went on to fight in the siege of Vicksburg and Bentonville.

Enlisted at 17. Captured at Fort Donelson. Paroled and later shot in the upper right thigh at Kennesaw Mountain. Buried in Eastern Cemetery in Forest, Scott County, Mississippi. He is my GG Grandfather of whom I am very proud!

John W (Dick) Moore was born 12/25/1833 in Pitt Co. NC. to Burton and Harriett Bates Moore. He died 12/10/1933 and is buried in Concord Cemetery, Concord Baptist Church, Ackerman, Mississippi. His tombstone is a CSA with his name and '20th MS Infantry, Co. G.' He is my great uncle. I have additional information about John W. Moore and am willing to share it with those that are interested.

Served in G Co. 20 Miss the entire war. He was quoted in a 1930s Vicksburg article that he was the first to reach the side of General Tilghman after he was killed at Bakers Creek by Union shrapnel.

William enlisted at age 34 on 23 Dec. 1862. Enlisted at Garlandville, Mississippi by W.M Chatfield for 3 years.His commander was Capt. Thomas W Cole. Co I was known as the Jasper Rifles. William was admitted to the 1st Mississippi C.S.A. Hospital at Jackson Mississippi with dx of Chronic Diarrhea and died there on 16 July 1863. His records say his death was at Garlandville. I have not yet located his grave. Deo Vindice.
