27th New Jersey Infantry

This is my 3rd Great-Uncle

My great, great grandfather -- Frederick Cratsley -- a private in the 27th New Jersey Company C -- died on May 31, 1863 -- in Kentucky from disease -- after the 27th had been engaged at Fredericksburg, on December 12-13, 1862. I am intersted in any informatiion known about the 27th New Jersey's engagement at Fredericksburg, and any other material information about the 27th New Jersey Infantry.

John enlisted (9 month) September 3, 1862 Co E 27th NJ Infantry Regiment. He mustered out with his regiment July 2, 1863 in Newark, NJ. He re-enlisted on February 18 1864 Co A 5th NJ Infantry Regiment and was transferred to the 7th NJ Infantry Regiment who he mustered out with on July 17, 1865.
