Surname mis-spelled 'Millroy' on muster rolls. Apparently ran away from home (Dutchess County, NY), lied about his age (he would have been 15-16 when he enlisted in 1861) and enlisted in another county (Ulster County, NY) where nobody knew him.
I am still trying to find out what happened to him - he doesn't seem to have returned home after the war. Did he die in battle? disease? where is he buried?
