32nd Ohio Infantry

Obtained information from national archives on Isaac's service about three years ago. His real name was Isaiah but he was illiterate and served under the name Isaac. According to service record he was wounded at Camp Allegheny in December 1861 and was wounded through his left thigh on May 22, 1863 at Vicksburg. He spent about 7-8 weeks in the Memphis hospital system. Later that year he re-enlisted and stayed in the regiment until muster out. He died in November 1868 and is buried in Harrison Twp., Champaigne County , Ohio.

James was killed July 22,1864. Brother George Peters was captured. I am attempting to get a marker to remember James and place it next to his sister is family cemetery.

Enlisted as a Private on 01 August 1861 Discharged on 05 June 1865 Distinguished service

Thomas served in the 32nd from its very beginning until after the fall of Vicksburg. He took part in the unti's campaigns in W. Virginia / Virginia and the entire second Vicksburg Campaign.

Enlisted Aug 27 1861, Died of disease April 4 1862. My 3rd great uncle his brother John M Gardner served in the 121st OVI.
