George M. Herr was born Sep 25, 1831 in Harrisburg, Dauphin Co, Pennsylvania. He married Florinda Reed on Mar 9, 1854 in Harrisburg. After his service in the war and prior to 1870, George and Florinda moved from Pennsylvania to Randolph Twp, Montgomery County, Ohio and later to Salem (now Clayton), Montgomery Co, Ohio. George died Apr 7, 1887 in West Milton, Miami Co, Ohio. George and Florinda's children were Thomas Reed Herr, John Herr, George Herr, Grace Herr, and
Clarence Herr.

Henry G. LeValley was my great grandfather.
He joined the 7th P.V.C. in Feb 1864.
His brother Volney was in the 41st and 190th P.V.I.
Both lived,died and are buried in Covington,PA.
Their graves are in the Grey Cemetery and both have G.A.R. markers/flagholders on their graves.

William Gilbert was born on Mar 1, 1845 in Barton, New York[Tioga County]. He served in the military on 04 Oct 1864 in Selma, Ala. He enlisted as a private in the 7th Pennsylvania V.C. Company M at Williamsport, Pa. He participated in one of the biggest calvary charges in history, The Battle Of Selma. He received his Hoerable Discharge at Macon, Ga. on 23 Aug 1865. He returned to Pa. Lived a good life until his death after 1908.
I also have another GGGGrandpa named Noah S. Rumsey He was with the 50th New York Engineers, Company C and then a calvary command that was captured 07 jul 1863 at Gettysburg and confined to Libby Prison, Richmond, Va., He may have died there? We don't know what happened to him after his capsure in 1863. If anyone can help me find him it would be very grateful to us. also the calvary command he transferred into?
