Silas changed the spelling of the family from Conn in order to servie in the same regiment as his brother Uriah. It also seems that Uriah's name has been changed in some documents as well.

David was my great-great-uncle. He served in Company M with two of his brothers, George and Isaac. All three were wounded in the war; David was wounded, captured, and paroled. e was discharged for disability due to wounds in february, 1865.
