Samuel was born in Darlington County SC and joined & mustered there at the Court House on 20 March 1862. He was about 25 y/o. Enlisted in Capt F.F. Warley's Co. SC Light Artillery. Formerly [Lamar's], [ Inglis'] aka 1st SC Artillery. He was engaged in the first battle at Sessionville, near Charleston on 15 - 16 June 1862 and was wounded. He was discharged 3 July 1862. We are related by marriage.

John has 9 items in his archival file. He enlisted 1 Aug 1863 at Darlington, South Carolina. [ Inglis Light Artillery. He served in the defense of Charleston until its evacuation, at which time he served in the Infantry in the Carolina Campaign.

Rosier was born 16 Oct 1845 in Kellytown, Darlington Co. SC. He enlisted at age 18 on 28 Oct 1863 on James Island, Charleston in Co D 2nd SC Artillery. He has 9 cards in his archival file. He was reported sick April, Sept. & Oct 1864. His first battle was at Lagarville, SC. In early 1865 his Artillery Company was converted to Infantry. He fought in the Carolina Campaign in Elliot's Brigade, Taliaferro's Division, { Hardee's Corps]. He survived the war and died 28 April 1928 in his hometown. He is the father in law of my 1st cousin 3 x removed.

Ephraim was 27 years old when he enlisted at Darlington, Darlington County SC on 20 March 1862. [Fort Johnson] He has 18 documents in his archival file. Was on picket duty near Charleston in Feb 1864 and assigned as a teamster in Sept of 1864. He survived the federal governments assault on his homeland. He is the husband of my 3rd cousin 4 x removed. Robert was about 27 when he enlisted 20 Mar 1862 at Darlington, Darlington District SC. Elected as 1st Sgt and elected 11 July 1863 to 2nd [Jr] Lieut. Unit was known by several names. Capt F.F. Warley's Co D. Inglis Light Arty. 1st SC Arty and 2nd Lamar's Battn: SC Arty. Served mostly around Charleston. Robert found himself on detached duty several times guarding Union POW's. With the fall of Charleston they moved north where they fought at Bentonville and Avesboro. Good men all who did their duty. Robert is related to me by marriage.

Enlisted in the Inglis Light Artillery on March 20, 1862 at Darlington Court House, SC. Present on every roll, last roll on service record September-October 1864.

Enlisted May 12, 1863 at Battery White Georgetown, South Carolina. Served only at Battery White and was medically discharged as almost totally blind on Sept. 6, 1863.

Served at James and John's Island, Secessionville, Fort Johnson, Morris Island, Fort Wagner, Fort Gregg, and Fort Sumter, Charleston bombardment and Burden's Causeway, (all in South Carolina). Enlisted May 1, 1862 at Cat Island, South Carolina where he joined Co. I, 4th S.C. Cavalry and was a Sergeant. He asked for a transfer to 2nd S.C. Artillery around Nov. - Dec. 1863 at the rank of Private so that he could be with his cousins. While with this unit he saw action at James and John's Island, Fort Sumter, Charleston bombardment and Burden's Causeway, (all in South Carolina).

Absalom was born in Darlington Co. SC 6 Mar 1821. He was about 42 years old when he enlisted 1 Sept 1863 at Mount Pleasant SC. Enlisted by Lieut. Logan in Ingis's Light Artillery formerly [Lamar's] He saw action on James Island and around Charleston Harbor. He has 10 cards in his archival file. Other than being present for duty no other relevant data noted. He married several times and is buried at Springwood Cem In Greenville, South Carolina. We are related by marriage

My great great grandfather enlisted in Company F of the 2nd South Carolina Artillery.

The 2nd SC Art'y was also known as the 1st SC Art'y which was formerly Lamar's 2nd Battn: SC Art'y. David enlisted in this unit on 9 April 1862 at Cole Island by Capt. Martin. Last paid by Capt. G.B. Latigue A.Q. M. Hospital Card shows him sick in CSA General Hospital # 11 in Charlotte, NC. Complaint Feb.Int__, Admitted 29 March 1865 returned to duty 10 April 1865.
