14th Tennessee Infantry

I am the son of Jesse Fred Belote of Lufkin TX. His father was Jess Belote who I was told was from Clarksville TN. Jess Belote had Isaac Newton Belote's obituary, saying he was from Clarksville TN, had served in the war had been seriously wounded

John CRoss attained the rank of sergeant. He was wounded at Chancellorsville and Fredsricksburg.

Enlisted as a Private on 14 May 1861 at the age of 22. Mortally wounded at Fredericksburg, VA on 13 December 1862.

Pleasant Armstrong Span b.1838 Allen Co. Ky. d.1916 Dickson Co. Tenn. Served in Co.B 14th TN. Infantry Regiment. Shot through the right hip at Cedar Run, and disabled. He is buried in Dickson County, TN at the Bud Gafford Cemetery.

Private Sylvanius Trotter served in Co.B/14th Tennessee Infantry Regt. He was my great Uncle, and brother of Corp. John William Trotter of Co.A/50th Tenn. Inf. Regt. He was wounded in action at the Battle of Seven Pines,VA. 31 May 1862. He was a POW captured and sent to Point Lookout, MD. He fought at Gettysburg and survived. He was captured at the final assult on Petersburg, VA. April 2, 1865. He remained a POW until his parole on June 21, 1865.

I am a great-great-great grandson of Pvt. N. C. Wall. Wall served throughout the duration of the War Between The States. His first battle was at Manassas, where the regiment was held in reserve. Subsequent battles included Seven Pines, Mechanicsville, Cold Harbor, Frazier's Farm, Harper's Ferry, and Sharpsburg. Was taken prisoner at Sharpsburg, but later released in an exchange. Was part of Pickett's Charge in Gettysburg. One of the 34 remaining in the regiment at war's end in Appomattox. Wall, of Montgomery County, TN, married Mary Ann Bumpus; their daughter Catherine married James Swift Suiter.

Fairly certain this is my G-G-GF. I'm very interested in any information of W. E. Lowe. There is also another Lowe in the 14th Tenn, Co. E - Wm. K. Lowe. This may be his son, brother or nephew. Obviously, I'm pretty clueless. I do know from family stories that one of these men (perhaps both) participated in Pickett's charge (Heth's division). In any event, W.E. Lowe eventually moved to Atlanta and lived on Sinclair Road, passing away around 1920. He was a busy man in at least one regard - he had 8 children. Thanks. Bo Hiers Atlanta 404-915-7708

I believe he was an Ord Sergeant. He died on August 29, 1862 at the battle of Manassas, Prince William, Virginia.

i am trying to find tommy for years. Where he went if he had family has family now. I want to share a very interesting experiance with them if I can locate then. p.s. I am not some kind of crackpot I am a nurse from P.A. who is very interested in TOMMY and his birth area,family,and his death. Trust me,I have avery interesting story to share. Milton enlisted in Co F 14th Tenn. Cavalry [ Neely's] on 1 Feb. 1864 in Hardeman County, Tenn.

mortally wounded and captured April 2, 1865 at Petersburg.He dies from his wound on April 19th at Armory Square Hospital in Washington, D.C. His body was returned to Clarksville, TN where he was buried on the family farm.

I think he died during war.He can't be found in census records after 1860

Wonder if this company was organized in Montgomery County, Tennessee. I have found two James Crabtrees in the CSA records.
