My Great Grandfather on my Mother''s side, Private Frederic Reemer, served as a 14 year old Drummer Boy when he enlisted. He went AWOL in 1864 and his Commander discharged him honorably for services rendered.

Enlisted as a Private on 18 April 1861. Promoted to Full Corporal then to Full Sergeant. Promoted to Full Lieutenant 2nd Class on 15 September 1862. Promoted to Full Lieutenant 1st Class on 02 June 1863. Promoted to Full Captain on 25 May 1864. Transfered on 10 June 1864 from company B to company A. Wounded on 21 August 1864. Transferred Company B, 2nd Infantry Regiment Wisconsin on 30 November 1864. Transfered in Company G, 6th Infantry Regiment Wisconsin on 30 November 1864. Transfered on 21 December 1864 from company G to company S (As of 6th WI Inf). Promoted to Brevet Major on 21 December 1864. Promoted to Brevet Lieutenant Colonel on 31 March 1865. Promoted to Brevet Colonel on 31 March 1865. Mustered out Company G, 6th Infantry Regiment Wisconsin on 14 July 1865 in Louisville, KY
