Jacob Cochems died at the Battle of Williamsburg

Wounded in action assaulting Marye's Heights in the Second Battle of Fredericksburg. Wounded and captured May 10th, 1864 at Spottsylvania Court House, Va. Held in Andersonville and Florence prisons for seven months. Later served as a witness for the state of Wisconsin into conditions at Andersonville Prison, and on a state commission to investigate placing a Wisconsin monument there. Claimed to have been present for all the regiments battles until the time he was captured, except Gettysburg, due to his wound and in which the unit saw no active fighting.

I'm interested in any information or perhaps picture of his regiment, that would be the 5th regiment, company c. My family is in possesion of company orders, several letters, and his sabre.

Died on April 6, 1865.He is buried at Section E, Site 5252 at Poplar Grove National Cemetery.

Enlisted, Aug. 31, 1864, M.O. June 20, 1865

He died in Virginia on May 10,1864. His true name was Louis Felix Cote.

One of three brothers to serve in Wisconsin regiments during the Civil War. He was wounded in the lower left rib cage at battle of Rappahannock Station in November 1863 and spent most of his remaining enlistment in hospital at Washington.

Enlisted (drafted) Sept. 28, 1864 in 5th Wisc. Inf. (reorganized). Killed in action, April 2, 1865, in assault on Petersburg, VA.

Noah survived the War.

Newell Jordan was killed in action on July 7, 1864 in Cold Harbor, VA. He was my 2nd great-uncle. He resided in Auroraville, Wisconsin in 1861.

Born July 15, 1835, in Colchester, Connecticut. Married Clarissa Paulley in Jackson County, Wisconsin. Died February 24, 1928, in Barnesville, Ohio. Buried in Riverside Cemetery, Black River Falls, Wisconsin. I do not know much about his military service other than the unit he served with and that he 'attained the rank of sergeant'.

Captain Turner is my 5th Great-Grandpa. He enlisted as a 2nd Lieutenant in 1861. He would be reach the rank of Captain in 1862. He would be killed at the 2nd Battle of Frederickburg May 3, 1863

Jonas Miles Brewster was killed in action at the Battle of Spotsylvania Courthouse. He was the son of John L Brewster and Phebe A Brewster, and brother of Joel Thomas Brewster who served in the 14th Wisconsin Infantry.

Fredrick was from Menomine, and was wounded at Fredricksburg, Va on May 3rd 1863. He is buried in Pottsville Penna.

Frederick Ringling was my great great grandpa. I am seeking any and all info on him.
