My great great grandfather Christopher Darius Gorman see attached is the guy behind Old Abe. He played the fife and I’ve read that Old Abe Loved to hear Yankee Doodle Dandy played (birds love flutes). I believe that CD Gorman was Old Abe’s Musician, he is in just behind Old Abe in the Vicksburg photo. There are 4 unknown soldiers in the photo and I would be happy to help ancestor verify if their ancstor is one by photo comparrisons. Old Abe retired one battle after CD Gorman was shot with a 58 cal mini ball through his left arm and shoulder exiting his right shoulder. He was found three days later and spent a year in a Memphis hospital and survived gang green. They no longer had her favorite musician to tame her and call her back to camp.

Born 1820 in Grafton, Nurthumberland, Ontarion, Canada. Enlisted June 1861. Discharged October 31, 1862 for disability. Died 1876. Aaron was my 3rd great granduncle and served with his brother Reuben.

Born 1804 Grafton, Ontario, Canada. Enlisted June 1, 1861 at age 57. Discharged April 1862 disability. Died May 14, 1883 Spring Valley, Pierce County, Wisconsin. Reuben was my 3rd great granduncle.

Born 1845 Ontario, Canada Enlisted June 1, 1861 Discharged February 19, 1862 Died after 1920 Brother of Daniel Hull who was killed at Nashville. Aaron was a first cousin on mt gg grandmother Mary Allen Rogers.

Born 1841 Nurthumberland, Ontario, Canada Enlisted June 1, 1863 Killed in action December 16, 1864 at Nashville Daniels brother Aaron P. Hull enlisted with Daniel. I have a very nice photo of Daniel with my gg grandfather taken before Vicksburg. Daniel was a first cousin of my gg grandmother Mary Allen Rogers who married Christopher Darius Gorman.

Born October 31, 1848 Colborne, Ontario, Canada Enlisted December 5, 1863 Private Drummer Wounded at Mansura, LA Mustered Out September 5, 1865 Died July 19, 1933 Port Orchard, WA Wes Grahnert is a GG Grandson of Timothy George Rogers Timothy was WIlliam Gorman's great great granduncle Timothy Geroge Rogers was a great grandson of Ethan Allen and Col James Rogers or Rogers' Rangers. Ethan and Col Rogers were co-conspiritors in the Vermont Negotioations. Ethan's daughter Mary Ann Allen married the sone of Col James ROgers James and they moved to Canada. Mary's evil step mother wrote her off as dead for marrying a tory and she did not want her to have any of Ethan's land.

Enlisted as a Private on 9 September 1861. Enlisted in Company F, 8th Infantry Regiment Wisconsin on 9 Sep 1861. Mustered Out Company F, 8th Infantry Regiment Wisconsin on 16 Sep 1864.

Died near Vicksburg, November 1863. Buried in Vicksburg National Cemetery.

Edwin served from 16 July 1864 to 5 September 1865. He fought against General N. B. Forrest in northeren Mississippi, the General Price Raid / Campaign, the second battle of Nashville, the sige of Spanis Fort and the battle of Ft. Blakeley.
