Private Kimzey was born in 1835 in Perry County, Illinois. He was wounded at Fort Donelson. He died in 1905 in Marlow, Oklahoma. He was survived by his wife, Jane, and three siblings.

Private Kimzey was born on April 7, 1842 in Pinckneyville, Illinois, the son of Ephraim and Jane Kimzey. At Fort Donelson, Kimzey lost an eye. He, and his father-in-law, B.G. Roots, ran an underground railroad. It was on May 4, 1867, that he married Martha Elizabeth Roots in Perry County, Illinois. Private Kimzey died on March 1, 1895 in Tamaroa, Illinois. He was survived by his wife and three of his five children.

Private King was born on January 9, 1840 in Ross County, Ohio to John and Mary King. He enlisted on May 28, 1861. On March 24, 1862, he was discharged due to disability. It is not clear when Private King died. He is buried at Bond Cemetery in Neosho County, Kansas.

Private King was born in 1828 in Jonesboro, Illinois. He married twice, first to Elizabeth Campbell, who died in 1869, and second to Frances A. Campbell. He had five children. King was discharged on December 18, 1861 due to disability. Private King died in 1896 in Jackson County, Illinois. He was survived by his second wife, four children, and two grandchildren.

Private Williams was born in 1838 in Perry County, Illinois. He enlisted at the age of 23 on May 28, 1861 at Anna, Illinois. Williams was killed at Fort Donelson on February 15, 1862.

James O. Mifflin,my second great-grand uncle, enlisted in Company C of the 18th Regiment at Carbondale, Ill on August 15, 1862. Captain Conner filled out two different enlistment forms, which both describe James as 5 feet 6 1/2 ' tall,with a fair complexion,light hair and gray eyes. He was mustered into service at Springfield on September 9, 1862. He served faithfully with the regiment up through the Vicksburg Campaign and was taken sick the tenth day of July 1863. The doctor's prognosis was the liver complaint and chronic diarrhea. He spent some time on sick furlough and was later sent to the hospital for a time. James was later transferred to Company A in the new, reorganized 18th Regiment.He served honorably for the rest of the war and was mustered out in Little Rock, Ark on July 8, 1865. His sickness did not go away though. According to his pension application, 'he is still an invalid from liver complaint and chronic diarrhea and his present condition renders him unable to do manual labor-at times he is confined to his bed.' He was awarded a pension in 1871 but the lingering effect of his aiments took his life on February 9, 1873 in Ava, Illinois.He left behind his wife Frances Henderson Mifflin, daughter Amanda N. Mifflin and a young son William Mifflin.In 1881 Frances Henderson Butler (second marriage) submitted a widow's claim and was eventually awarded her pension.

Oliver was married to Lydia A. Clark. Residence Robinson Illinois. I believe he died of illness. Oliver was listed as absent sick in Mo. This is where I lose track of him. Unable to find any information as to where he was laid to rest.
