After enlisting Jan 1862 and re-enlisting Jan 1864 he was captured at Battle of Bentonville, NC; contracted typhoid fever at Camp Parole, MD; sent to Camp Chase, Ohio hospital where he died.

George was KIA at the battle of Gettysburg on July 1,1863. He was married to my G,G,G Aunt Ann M Hill. He got to see his daughter Rachel Ann Bryant born 23 Jan 1861 before he left for the war.
