Born in Ontario County, New York in 1841,.Enlisted in September 1862. Mustered out May 13 1865. Relocated to Chippewa County, Michigan for a time after the war. Died in Bells Run, McKean County, Pennsylvania, buried in Bells Run Cemetery.

Colby C. Tupper was a sharpshooter and was wounded at Gettysburg, reassigned to veteran reserve corps 3/15/1864, discharged 06/27/1865. According to his obit 'helped carry President Lincoln's body out of the theater'
