I have done extensive research on the 168th Penn. and am happy to share the information with other descendents of soldiers of this unit.

Dr. Alexander M. Rea, at the age of 21, was 1st Lieutenant assistant surgeon with the 168th PA Infantry, companies F and S. He joined for duty 4 June 1863 in Washington, D. C. for a period of nine months but was mustered out 25 July 1863.

Thomas Baldridge was my great-great grandfather. He was discharged on a surgeon's certificate in New Bern, N.C. during the month of March, 1863.
